As a coordinator for our author visits, I struggle to find authors that meet the needs of our primary and intermediate classes. Bruce has a variety of books that easily span our TK-6th grade students. He also met the demands of presenting to all grade levels by creating presentations that were unique to each group and incorporating teaching strategies to keep students engaged and entertained.
The students can’t stop talking about you today! There isn’t ONE Bruce Hale book in my library right now. Thank you, again, for sharing your knowledge, motivation, encouragement, humor and enthusiasm with all our students.
Using your website and all of the corresponding book activities/lessons you have put together really helped. I was able to talk about rhyming, character development, using similes as an added description or humor, and being creative when writing fractured fairy tales. I had a month worth of library lessons! Thanks again for a wonderful visit.
I highly encourage anyone who is considering inviting Bruce Hale as a visiting author to do so! He was able to engage our preschool students up to our high school students, and our parents — sometimes with only ten minutes to adapt his presentation. Hosting an author can be stressful, but he is so easy to work with. I cannot recommend Bruce Hale highly enough!
